Mike Flynt in the News
Mike's story drew attention nationwide during and after the 2007 football season. As well as many local TV stations around the country, he has appeared on all of the major television networks, including ABC's Good Morning America, Jim Rome is Burning on ESPN, NBC's Inside Edition, NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, FOX News, CNN, The 700 Club, The Joni Show, Celebration, and is scheduled to appear on the Crystal Cathedral Hour of Power and Life Today with James Robison in early 2009.
Stories regarding Mike's amazing journey appeared in newspapers across the nation and magazines such as Sports Illustrated, AARP, Texas Monthly and U.S. News and World Report. He was also featured in Ripley's Believe it or Not and was chosen as one of the Top 100 Sports Stories of the Year by ESPN The Magazine in the December 2007 issue.
Additionally, Mike's story was read into and permanently recorded into the Congressional Record of the United States Congress. He was also formally recognized by Rick Perry, Governor of the State of Texas, with a sealed certificate acknowledging his accomplishments.
Mike is currently involved in public speaking, running PowerBase Fitness and is under management by LeBron James's company, LRMR Marketing. He is also working on a fitness book scheduled to be released in mid-2009.
